Ready to adopt?  Here's how.

Our adoption process requires an application which must be approved, an adoption fee, a spay/neuter deposit and a signed contract.

Why do all of this?’  It's quite simple - we care about our fur babies!  And we want to make sure that our babies are going to great furever homes without the possibility of further adding to the over-population of pets which already causes tens of thousands of pets to be put down every day.

Step 1 - Application

Fill out and return the application.  You can choose from Microsoft Word or PDF versions -  use whichever works best for you.  Personal and vet references are required.  Please remember to contact your vet to authorize them to speak to us regarding past care of your animals.

Step 2 - Application Approval

We will review your application and call your references.  This will take a minimum of one business day - longer if your references are not available.

.

Step 3 - Meet & Greet - Final approval

Time to meet the dog or puppy you want to adopt, and for us to meet each other.  This is an informal interview where the final approval will be made.

Step 4 - Adoption Prep

You will be given a copy of the contract which outlines both your responsibilities and ours.      Please review this contract and bring your questions if you have any

If your new pet is not altered, spay/neuter will be required prior to your pup turning 6 months old or within 2 months if the dog is older.  A deposit is required - you have the option to give that $100 deposit to your vet earmarked for the spay/neuter surgery.  Make sure to get a receipt to bring with you when you pick up your pet..

Step 5 - Adoption

Your pet is waiting to go to their forever home with you!  When you get to the home to pick him or her up, you will need to provide the adoption fee which is $125 unless otherwise noted, and a $100 spay/neuter deposit or receipt if paid to your vet.  If the deposit is paid to K9MOM, the $100 will be paid directly to your vet at the time of the spay/neuter.

You will be required to sign the adoption contract.  The medical record kept on your pet since intake will be provided.

Step 6 - Living & Loving

We know you'll be enjoying your new furbaby the same way that we have.  While we will miss them, knowing that they go to great homes makes it all worth while.  Please send us an update with pictures if possible - those wonderful tidbits get us through the not so nice things we sometimes see in rescue.

Thank you for adopting - you have just saved a life!
